Summer Institutes
Summer institutes are held on Teachers College campus every summer, and every summer more than 3,500 people attend those institutes. The TCRWP also leads off-site institutes at far-flung sites around the world, often serving as many as 10,000 other teachers. These are embedded in schools themselves in ways that helps teachers in those schools invigorate their own professional learning culture.
This summer, the July Writing Institute will feature James Howe, Roy Peter Clark, Carl Anderson, and Lucy Calkins, among others, and will be held from June 29 - July 3. The July Reading Institute will be held from July 5-9, keynote speakers will include John Scieszka, Tim Rasinski, Kathy Collins and of course Lucy Calkins.
The August Writing Institute will feature Andrew Clements, Mary Ehrenworth, James Howe, Tom Romano, and Lucy Calkins, and will be held from August 9-13. Keynote speakers for the August Reading Institute include Kathy Collins, Stephanie Harvey, Lester Laminack, Tim Rasinski, and Lucy Calkins and will be held from August 16-20.
The cost of the 2010 institutes is $650. This price may vary per applicant depending on the choices selected.
